CCTV says in its report “Our country’s first quantum scientific experiment satellite will soon be launched” that the satellite has been fully tested and installed on the carrier rocket while the rocket has been ready at the launch scaffold.

According to the chief engineer of the satellite system, the fourth general examination of the carrier rocket and satellite has been completed satisfactorily. Therefore, everything is ready and they are waiting for the right timing for the launch.

The satellite is to carry out three major experiments of the distribution of quantum encryption keys, the distribution of quantum entanglement and quantum teleportation.

China’s well-known quantum scientist Pan Jianwei says on TV screen that they are doing things never tried by anybody before. Their source of quantum entanglement is the brightest in the world but they are not sure the entanglement can be transmitted to the satellite and whether the entanglement source in the satellite may transmit the signal it has received to a reception station in Austria.

Moreover, they have to ensure that the equipment can survive the radiation of cosmic ray and continue to work for two years. Everything is new in the experiment. Only by satisfactory integration of lots of inventions can they ensure smooth fulfillment of the scientific tasks of the quantum satellite.
