A web user recently posted photos of the appearance of three J-20s alongside in an airport, two in yellow coating and one in grey coating with low visibility. They all carried out test flights there.

That would appear to be the case. In one of the recent YouTube videos, the J-20 initially showed a plume of smoke from its exhaust and subsequently none. It gave me the impression they were testing the W-15 engines. And if one of the senior military officer’s statement that 90% of the Chinese fighter-bomber planes are installed with China made engines, it would seem to imply if not corroborate my conclusion that it is highly likely the J-20s are now fitted with WS-15 engines which have been tested and adjudged to be sufficiently operational worthy.

I say, good show, gentlemen. You have been working hard and almost there now for an initially operationally J-20. In my mind the J-20 is an extremely strategic plane in the defense of the Chinese mother/fatherland. The sooner it is ready to be produced en masse, the better for the country. Even if the Americans and Japanese can track it on old world war II radars with however, limited tracking range.

All three planes appeared to be using WS-15 engines according to a friend of mine who is an aviation expert.
