On October 12, a press conference was held in Beijing on the achievements of China’s world first quantum satellite.

China’s chief quantum scientist Pan Jianwei gave a briefing on the successful establishment of connection between the satellite and Xinglong ground station.

Three on-orbit tests have been carried out on the satellite: The test of satellite platform; the test of effective load and the test of space-ground connection.

The first two tested have been completed while the third has been partially completed through the connection between the satellite and the ground station.

So far the satellite has been in satisfactory conditions. It is expected that all the on-orbit tests will be completed in mid November. Then the satellite will be delivered for application and scientific experiments on it will formally begin.
