China Launches World First Pulse Star Test Satellite for Accurate GPS

Lauch of China’s world first pulse star test satellite by a CZ-11 solid-fuel rocket.
I had a post on October 16 on China’s plan to launch world first pulse star test satellite in order to greatly enhance the global positioning accuracy of its Beidou Navigation System. I said in the post:
Both US GPS and China’s Beidou Navigation System rely on the accuracy of their clocks for the accuracy of global positioning.
A hydrogen atomic clock is now most accurate due to its high stability, but a pulse star is 10,000 times more stable due to its enormous mass and high spin velocity. The X ray pulse emitted by a pulse star can provide much more accurate time than the hydrogen atomic clock used by GPS and Beidou now.
China is to launch a pulse star navigation satellite next month to greatly enhance the accuracy of the global positioning of its Beidou Navigation System.
It is extremely difficult to master that brand new technology but Chinese scientists are confident that they will be able to do so through the satellite.
According to Hong Kong’s Sky Post, China successfully launched world first pulse star test satellite at 7:42 am yesterday with a CZ-11 solid-fuel rocket.
It is worth mentioning that CZ-11 is China’s only solid-fuel rocket that can be launched within 24 hours; therefore, it has got the nickname of “quaijian (fast rocket)”
The rocket can be integrated with the satellite it will launch and stored in its launch tube for quite a long time. The tube is carried by a launch vehicle hidden in China’s 5,000 km long tunnel. CZ-11 is therefore used in China’s Quaizhou anti-ASAT system for sending replacement satellite for the satellite destroyed by enemy in war.
This time the CZ-11 rocket launched 4 nanosats along with the pulse star test satellite, China’s new record in sending multiple satellites by a solid-fuel recket.
