How Does Blocking China’s Access to Islands Fit Trump’s America first?

Quite a few people believe that Trump is stupid or inexperienced, but I don’t think so. I would rather believe that after electing two stupid presidents, Americans have learnt the lessons and have now chosen a wise leader.

However, I am puzzled that Trump’s choice of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the US shall block China’s access to its artificial islands and Trump has not opposed Tillerson’s statement.

Trump regards placing America first as the core of his new policy for the US. He wants Japan and other US allies to fully pay the costs of US military protection of them. That is indeed America first and its allies second.

China’s artificial islands have not hurt US interests and no country whatever has asked the US to block China’s access to the islands for their interests. According to the US, it will do so to protect international interests instead of America’s own interests. It certainly is something that puts other countries in the world first instead of America first.

Moreover, it may leads to a very costly war with China and the America can ask no one to pay for the costs of the war.

That certainly does not fit Trump’s putting America first.

However, as I believe, rather I hope, that the US now has a wise leader, I find it difficult to understand Trump’s wisdom in his desire to block China’s access to the artificial islands at the risk of a war with a strong China, which the US cannot be sure to win.

Perhaps, that is but Trump camp’s rhetoric to obtain concessions from China in other areas. Still I don’t see the wisdom in such rhetoric.

Trump is to America what Caligula is to Rome.
Caligula sent his army to the English Channel and ordered his soldiers to throw rocks into the sea in direction of Briton. He returned to Rome in “triumph” claiming he had conqured Briton. I could see Trump ordering his troops to throw rocks into the SCS towards Chinese reclaimed islands from American bases in Phillipines and announced that he stopped China from access to its territories in the SCS.

So far Trump has not shown himself to be better than stupid. Lets face it, the USA is firmly on a downward trajectory, thats why the string of electing unwise leaders will not be broken! Thats what happens when an empire is on its last legs! The only wise thing to do (for others like China) is to prepare for the worst so as not to be destroyed as a victim by the crumbling empire!

Trump criticised America’s involvement in the wars in Iraq and Aghanistan because it does not put America First so how will a war with China puts America First?
It is empty rheroric Trump is using as bargaining chip to win economic concession from China. If I were China I will humiliate Trump by playing his own game and up the ante barring American navy entry into the SCS and no more port calls to HK. May even make noises about ADIZ in SCS only against America.

One of the news article says that the US (namely Trump and Tillerson) thinks from the buttocks instead of head and speaks with gunpowder flavour. For old Trumpy to start an Asian war with China over the SCS islands would be more of a distraction than reality. None of the Asian littoral states would support a devastating war between China and the US. In fact none of the Asian member states would support US (a foreigner) into the SCS dispute, when push comes to shove, except for Japan.

Trump like Hillary would have a panel of economist, military strategist, geopolitical analyst, advisers and planners during the election campaign selling his Trump card. The US is a declining power both economically and militarily with a financial debt of around 20 billion $$. Trump won the election because he wants to make America rich again and powerful. His theme is to collect more revenue, bring jobs back to America and reduce taxes.

One of his main objective is to increase import duty or tariffs on foreign imported goods. This is the only tax revenue to offset reduction of taxes for local manufacturing enterprises, with a view of bringing jobs back to America. Trump anticipated protection monies from allies to increase US revenues, but I call this extortion money. It is a form of bribery since there is no war. If Trump is serious of collecting extortion monies, he should reduce expenditure by closing most of US military bases around the world.

However, Trump suggested an increase number of nuclear warheads and allowing Japan and Sth Korea to develop nuclear weapons. This is not a wise President, in fact his stupidity will bring the world closer to nuclear devastation.

His main objective as President, is to increase revenue, reduce US financial debt and reduce expenditure. This is Trump’s America First. As for Trump’s blockade of China’s SCS, I would rather call it Trump’s Blockhead because it will only invite China’s wrath of chemical weapons. It will turn the SCS and ECS into a tinderbox inferno.

The reality is that President Trump has little Trump card up his sleeve. He can only increase import taxes on goods to offset reduction of company tax. China’s free market is huge, but the US will be competing with other developed countries like Germany, France, Japan, Sth Korea including local brand China.
