China’s Next Homegrown Aircraft Carrier Will Use 4 Steam Catapults

China’s Science and Technology Daily says in its report yesterday that there has been recent media report that China’s next homegrown Type 002 aircraft carrier to be launched by the end of this year the earliest will be equipped with 4 steam catapults instead of electromagnetic ones.

The newspaper interviewed Chinese naval expert Li Jie for that. According to Li, steam catapults have been in use for half a century and proved very reliable while electromagnetic one is a brand new technology that needs actual proof of its reliability in spite of its great advantages compared with steam ones. China had better wait and see.

Moreover, electromagnetic catapult consumes lots of electricity so that the aircraft carrier must be a nuclear one with total power exceeding 60 MW. Judging by Li’s words, China’s next aircraft carrier will not be a nuclear one.

It’s better to use tried and tested steam catapults at this stage. Exotic EMAL stupid idea at This Stage as just one hit will Cripple the system making All planes useless. Four steam catapults is more survivable, so good strategy.

So, no electromagnetic catapult.? Professor Weiming said the Chinese catapult is better than the US ones. I can only assume its reliability and design functions are superior to US ones. An opportunity lost to show made in China high tech is superior to US electromagnetic catapult. One of the reasons for installing 4 steam catapults is the service maintenance is shorter. According to report, the EMALs put too much stress on airframes. China need to advance its VTOL warplanes to take heavier load of armaments.

You are always making stupid assumptions. And don’t be such a boaster about China. Just a mistake and you make China look like with pie in the face. Beijing doesn’t need your kind of embarrassing flattery.

from above, …still soaking in ur wet dreams.

            Time for a brief.

Ur first commentary was based on immediate military action, my response was diplomacy first, U lost ur cool and became aggressive. No doubt, we have our prerogatives, but ur behaviour was adamant, no discussion, ur thoughts are preoccupied with a one track mind, i.e military action.

I responded with one Question, ‘ do u know the difference between a blockade and a blockhead.’?

U blew your temper like a typhoon across the ECS, SCS, Pacific Ocean, around the world and back. U send me ‘gift wrapped words of dickhead, assO, pol pot, psychopath, dumbass, uneducated peasant, puny brain, etc, etc…’

Its like this, say U gave someone a present and that someone refused ur gift. What happens then.? U have to take it back. Similarly, I refused ur gift and therefore I have returned it back to the sender.

U shouldn’t think there is a winner and loser. It’s childish throwing tantrums across the SCS, ECS, Taiwan, etc. Whats the point of having a one track mind and keeping to your dogmatic views….. ‘Best I be on good behaviour from now on.?’

You talk like a shitty indian fabricating all kind of nonsense and speaking on someone else’s behalf. Readers can jolly well read for themselves what I say and what you “interpret”. If you do not wish others to call you names, you should not have started it first. What makes you think your half-baked opinions are the ones everyone should follow? If you do not know yourself well enough, others will hold a mirror for you. You are what is known as a petty little dictator and an extremist “red guard” type to boot. I have no problem listening to other’s opinion and to agree to disagree after debates if required but not so when it is an insult with slurs and ad hominems thrown in. If you expect better people to meekly give in to your bullying tactics, think again. Your new culture of bulldozing your way and “shouting loudly” is not going to get you “serviced first” here. You do not even have the humility to say sorry in a public media like this but making sexual innuedos instead like soaking in “wet dreams” which indicates a sex-perverted personality.

Your mouthing of profanities and racial slurs is unjust and prejudicial in a public media. It is detrimental to the interest of many people who wish to comment on this blog. Your extreme aggressive behaviour and desire to be noticed conceals feelings of personal inadequacies.. U are quite a colourful, melodramatic person like you are acting on stage. Your outburst of profanities such as ‘dickhead, asshole, shitty Indian, etc, etc are unacceptable. This public media blog is for discussion and entertainment not intended for anyone’s recalcitrant behaviour. There are no winners and losers here …… Goodbye “Asssassin.”

Agree – Professor Weiming has already said China’s EMALs are better than US ones, waiting for the green light from Beijing. China will not give up on perfecting it’s EMALs, if lacking in reliability. It’s good that China is installing a steam catapult on the type 002 to gain operational experience, at least PLAN will own one. If and when the US EMALs becomes operational on the Ford carrier, China will be watching closely for it’s reliability.
