South China Sea: Manila and Beijing agreed to shelve dispute, ambassador says – despite Duterte’s vow to uphold ruling

  • Presidents Xi and Duterte had already reached a ‘consensus’ to ‘put aside’ their competing maritime claims, said Chinese envoy to Manila Huang Xilian

  • His comments came just days after Duterte vowed to uphold a 2016 arbitration ruling, and led one retired judge to say the president had been ‘taken for a ride’

China and the Philippines have agreed to shelve their dispute over the South China Sea, according to the Chinese ambassador to Manila – who spoke mere days after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte won praise from critics for vowing before the United Nations General Assembly to uphold a 2016 arbitration award that had invalidated many of Beijing’s controversial maritime claims.

President Duterte Presidency ends in 2022. China should negotiate a deal with PH on Huangyan Island, Scarborough Shoal. This island is the gateway to the Pacific ocean, an extremely important waterway to militarise the region and establishing a research centre for fisheries and mining of seabed. The US will try hard to prevent the island militarised by China even though China claims the shoal as part of its nine dash line. If, China intent on establishing an ADIZ, the Huangyan island must fall into China’s control and effectively push the US further away from the SCS.

    Duterte believes he is Chinese.
America already made it clear it would not be giving Covid vaccine to Phillipines but China is giving the country early vaccine.

A ruling that is peddled by Philippines and anti-China forces that it is a UN ruling but denied by UN on the day the tribunal kangaroo court handed its cooked up decision. A ruling that was paid entirely by the Philippine government including secretarial services, salaries of all judges and the rented office at the UN building to make it look like a UN agency. This farce of a tribunal was cooked up by imperialist America because it doesn’t recognized the UNCLOS and need a lackey to like the Philippines to further demonize China.

The Philippines, however, admittedly that the reason to shelve the dispute is due to the preferential loans and aid given to the Philippines in the tune of US$24 billion. That means after which all have been granted and infrastructures built by China, the Philippine government will revert back to its being Uncle Sam lackey.

China, remember that the Philippines will always be pro-America no matter what. It is already in their genes to be under the command of the white race. The fake Philippine nationalism is just in spoken words but in actuality and in deeds, they always patronize the white race.
